The Story of a Custom EHR Company
|
XLEMR arose in the early days of 2002 when president and founder Tripp Weeks met Dr. Bob Lanier. Dr. Lanier lamented the lack of EHR software suitable for rheumatology practices. After conferring with Tripp, they outlined some basic design principles for a simple, customizable EHR system. XLEMR was born.
Dr. Lanier was spending money on transcription, then moved to using Dragon to do his own dictation. However, he realized this was not doing the job. Not only was he behind on documentation, but he knew his dictated notes would not support the level of coding his visits deserved.
Dr. Lanier's PA, Don Sams, was the first to get going with XLEMR. Don adapted quickly to the flow of the system. Soon he was seeing his normal volume of patients and leaving the office every day at 4:30. Seeing this gave Dr. Lanier the motivation to really use the system, because he was dissatisfied with staying late at the office to catch up on paperwork.
Since then, XLEMR has expanded to satisfy many clients and cover many different specialties including primary care, geriatrics/long term care, podiatry, and others.

XLEMR Expands to Long Term Care
|
After Rheumatology, XLEMR moved into the Long Term and Geriatric Care market. Our simple, mobile solution makes
us very popular with long term care providers. No other EMR provider offers a custom solution that allows providers
to operate without a full time internet connection.
XLEMR met Dr. Hannan, our first LTC Provider at AMDA. Dr. Hannan worked closely with the XLEMR team to design
an EMR system to meet his needs. Please check out our testimonials page to see a video interview with Dr. Hannan.
Our process for customization uses action record meetings where our clients review and record changes they would like
in XLEMR. In most cases, our development team can implement small and modest changes overnight.
Dr. Hannan practices at various nursing homes around Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Jewell, pictured left, is one of our star clients. He and his staff of nurse practitioners have been
using XLEMR for several years. Dr. Jewel demonstrates how he can use XLEMR to document patient care at the bedside.
Dr. Jewell employs four nurse practitioners. Each one independently travels to nursing homes and other facilities. They use XLEMR on their tablet computer to see patients and document their visits. They return home at the end of the workday and connect their tablet computers to the internet. XLEMR automatically synchronizes their records between all computers, updates their software, and runs their billing reports.
Dr. Jewell and associates practice in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area.

XLEMR Signs on a new Rheumatology Practice
|
Dr. Soto-Aguilar, pictured left with Tripp Weeks, is one of our newest clients. Dr. Soto-Aguilar is an allergist and rheumatologist practicing in Hudson, Florida. XLEMR is taking a slow, hand-holding approach to implement her new EMR system. Tripp is training the doctor one-on-one to use her new tablet computer and navigate XLEMR.
Our clients enjoy personal attention from our developers, technicians, and even the president of the company. Dr. Soto-Aguilar and her office staff have direct access to XLEMR associates through cell phone, instant messenger, Skype, and email. XLEMR's clients never have to submit a trouble-ticket online or dial options on a phone tree.
